Meet the band...

Recommended to "Those who like jumping on the bandwagon early" (Independent Clauses) The Jesus have officially arrived.  With the release of their new single No More Tears (for me) and the anticipated follow up to 2010's The Highest Highs and The Lowest Lows (LP) due early in 2012, The Jesus Rehab have created an undeniable buzz in the Seattle music scene.

The band once again choose an unexpected path on No More Tears (for me) and abandon the midi sounds, layered instruments, and thick harmonies of their previous record for a raw and unadulterated arena rock anthem.  Seattle Weekly wrote "Partying like its 1999 with this irony-free Weezer tribute."

Cortese sings about moving from a humble upbringing to the big city.  The openness of lines like "Would you remind me why/I left the warmth of home and all the things that shaped my life" make a universal connection with anyone listening who has ever left the farm, and The Jesus Rehab drill home the point that they support adventure with fun-loving melodies and an upbeat rhythm.

In the adventurous spirit of the song, the band chose to work with a new producer calling in the expertise of Seattle native Dylan Fant. Fant is co-founder of the band J Minus and has and eclectic background as a producer of not only rock but also pop music, hip hop, and metal.  Although the band admits that "It took them a little while to get used to anyone's style outside former producer Brin Addison" they added that "Fant was a pleasure to work with and really captured the essence of the song."

The Jesus Rehab has its roots in SW Michigan where lead singer Jared Cortese and brother Dominic wrote and recorded the beginning tracks of what would later become the bands first EP titled "Scatterbrained" (2007).  The group was officially formed by Cortese and former drummer Pete Kingham in a basement in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard.  Since its inception the duo has written and performed with several local artists including Pete's brother Andy Kingham (bass) and guitarist Dan Laughlin, and bassist Geoff B. Gibbs (Julia Massey and The Five Finger Discount). Pete left the band in 2008 and was replaced with original drummer Dominic Cortese, bringing the band full circle.

The Jesus Rehab's sound showcases powerful vocals and driving rhythms that have been compared favorably to Keene, Ok Go, The Flaming Lips and most often Weezer. In the last two years, they’ve rocked their way through Seattle with gigs at Seattle mainstays The High Dive, The Columbia City Theatre, Nectar, The Tractor Tavern - and in 2011 performed at notable festivals SXSW and Seattle Hempfest along with shows throughout the Pacific Northwest.
